Hello! My name is Sam.

I make music and sound effects for video games.

I began taking guitar lessons at age 8 and quickly developed a love for the instrument. After several years of playing I started experimenting with writing and producing my own pieces. This interest in music creation coincided with my obsession of video games (particularly the indie games Minecraft, Fez, and Terraria), whose music I found to be incredibly influential.

While I like to explore various genres, my personal writing style tends to have electronic and ambient undertones. I like to frequently include guitars, both acoustic and electric, in my compositions as well.

Highlighted Works:

The album Game Jams is a constantly growing collection of tracks that I’ve written and produced for various game jam competitions. A lot of these jams took place over a weekend, with several covering a full week. In most of these I was also in charge of creating the sound effects.

I absolutely love the process of taking a concept or game prototype and trying to figure out the musical atmosphere that will best suit it, as well as which instrumentation to use in order to evoke specific feelings to motivate and engage the player.

You can read more about this collection of tracks here as well as find links to play the completed games.

The album Song a Week is a project that has done more to help me grow creatively than I ever expected. As you can probably guess, I write and release a new song every week.

I have 3 main goals with this project: 1) To experiment and constantly be trying out new ideas. 2) To be able to write and produce music in a shorter window of time. 3) To keep myself making music regularly. Apart from a few breaks for sicknesses and moving I’ve remained very consistent with this project, and the growth that it has led to has been fantastic.

You can check out the whole album here, I add new tracks every Sunday.

The EP Living Life in Reverse Order was a exercise in ambience and building textures, something that I’ve been very interested in lately. I sampled an old track I had worked on previously, pulled out the kalimbas as well as some lead parts, and stretched/spliced/edited them until I had a bed of sound to work off of.

I reused instruments between tracks to build cohesion across the EP and to make it a satisfying listening experience from beginning to end.

You can check out the EP here as well as on streaming services.
